Here I go 'kicking and screaming' into the blogging...I am reading What Do Connected Educators Do Differently and I realize that I need to be more active in the Twitter world and take more responsibility for my professional development. I have skimmed the surface of Twitter for a few years, but much prefer Pinterest for new classroom ideas and connections to teacher blogs and websites. I am realizing that I am being a rather selfish consumer by not contributing to the my professional conversation that's out there. I am not a person who naturally likes to write out my thoughts so I have never blogged and rarely post anything on Twitter or any other social media so this is a leap outside of my comfort zone. Who knows where it will lead...
Here's my first post on our new classroom website. My goal for this
website is to communicate with the families in my classroom. Hopefully you'll find it to be a helpful resource (Links for Parents) and a great tool for communicating with your child about what is happening in our classroom. Check out our Photos link with your child so that your favorite "K" Kid can use the pictures to explain what we're learning in our classroom. There are also some links to books that we've authored in our classroom on these pages. It's especially fun to hear the "K" Kids read the books to you. Enjoy!
Today we read more about bats...both fiction and nonfiction and made 2 bat projects and a book on beginning sounds in our names. We also got to meet Mrs. Luttman. She is filling in for Mrs. Catlett, our counselor. Mrs. Catlett is home with her new baby boy. Mrs. Luttman was very complimentary of our class! A thumbs up for great behavior. Thanks parents for sharing your marvelous children with me!
