Pirate Fun! We were friendly pirates, sharing our treasure and learning to read...especially a pirate's favorite words with 'ar'!
Leprechauns & Dr. Seuss
It was a super fun week in kindergarten with Dr. Seuss stories and leprechaun mischief. The "K" Kids were very motivated writers when looking for clues and keeping track of their investigations. Thanks parents for helping us get dressed up special each day!
Colors and Light
We learned about Colors & Light this week. We made rainbows and practiced mixing colors. We also started having a little leprechaun fun by making Leprechaun Stew. The Solar System
Who says kindergarten isn't rocket science!? We are learning about objects in the sky. We created a mural of the solar system on 2 walls of our classroom, and we built a space ship and control center to explore. If you plan to come and visit, make sure that you get the password from your favorite "K" Kid. We don't want any of the information from our space missions to fall into the wrong hands so we have a secret password each day.
Happy Valentine's Day
Thanks parents for a wonderful Valentine Party! We had a great time!
Happy Presidents Day!
We learned about past presidents, their pets, the White House, and Washington, DC. We also learned about coins and the presidents on each one. We made some great observations.

Foods & Nutrition
Food and Nutrition was a tasty and fun week. Monday we made fruit salad. Tuesday we made vegetable soup. Wednesday we made butter. Thursday we baked rolls, and Friday we made ice cream. With all of the delicious smells coming from our classroom, we had lots of visitors. We learned about the 'My Plate' plan. Now we know how to eat healthy.
Our families are special to us. We read the book, Tar Beach and created our own quilt of family memories. We also read books about moms and dads and made lists of things that our moms and dads do. Finally, we read about grandparents and made our own version of the book, Grandma, Grandma. We followed the book pattern. It was also fun learning about our parents' kindergarten experiences. Because many of you learned your letters in kindergarten with The Letter People, we watched a video of Miss Achoo. The "K" Kids decided that their videos today are better!
